In today's message we continue through Matthew 24, looking at Jesus' words on the perilous times that the nation of Israel will soon face. Deception and false teachers will be rampant, and the tribulation will be more severe that any previous time in all of history. We look at some types or shadows of this, from Epiphanes' evil deeds prompting the Maccabean revolt around 170BC, through to Hitler in World War 2. Jesus says the time coming will be even worse than those, but ultimately we are assured that the days will be cut short and "all Israel will be saved."

In this study we look at the meaning of the Greek word apostasia, which is transliterated to apostasy in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 in the NASB. What is the best way to understand this word? We argue that the meaning is departure in a general sense, and therefore is best understood as a reference to the departure of the Church from the world, an event known as the Rapture.
